Introduction

By using MyWaifuList, you agree to follow this TOS (“Terms of Service”) document. We may change this at any time, so check back often.

Eligibility

  • To use MyWaifuList, you must be at least 13 years of age.
  • To access NSFW content, you must enable it in your profile options (when available).
  • If you are a minor, please obtain permission from your guardian to use this service.

Liability

We don’t assume liability for anything, as this site is powered completely by user-submitted content.

Terms of Use

We reserve the right to suspend any account for any reason. By using the site, you agree to the following:

  • Do not crawl or use spiders to scrape content without explicit permission.
  • Do not perform any activity that will degrade the service for other visitors.
  • Do not attempt to bypass security measures in place.
  • Do not spam or post excessive comments.
  • Do not use bots to manipulate voting.
  • Do not impersonate unpaid staff members.
  • Do not upload content illegal within the United States.
  • Do not upload content you do not own.

Prohibited Content

The following is NOT allowed:

  • NSFW/Sexually explicit content (see below).
  • Sharing illustrated or digitally altered pornography that depicts minors (e.g., lolicon or shotacon).
  • Sharing content related to minors that is sexual or violent, including images or links that depict minors in inappropriate situations.

Note: With anime characters, it can be difficult to judge age from imagery alone. Please use common sense and refrain from posting explicit images of characters who are, or could reasonably be interpreted as, minors.

NSFW Classification for Non-Removed Images

The following rules are under development and provide guidance for classifying NSFW content.

”Out of Character” Art Tagged as NSFW

Images may be tagged as NSFW if they depict a character in a revealing position or in ways unique to that character.

Example: SHIROBAKO Official Compilation Book WHITE SUMMER! features fan service outside the scope of the show.

Reported images will likely retain NSFW classification but remain in the gallery.

”In Character” Art – Ecchi, Revealing Outfits, Suggestive Poses (Not Tagged as NSFW)

Characters wearing revealing or ecchi outfits as part of their original canon will not be classified as NSFW.

Examples:

Fan art depicting characters in explicit poses (e.g., Camie Utsushimi) will be reviewed based on context.

Explicit Nudity (Strictly Prohibited)

Explicit images featuring nudity or sex acts will not be allowed and will be removed. NSFW box art for adult games will be censored.
If you find inappropriate images, please report them via Discord.

User Content

By contributing to the site, you agree to the following:

  • Do not post hate speech, threatening speech, or illegal content.
  • Do not upload content that violates third-party rights.

MyWaifuList aggregates user-submitted content, and moderation is conducted by volunteer users. If your work is mistakenly uploaded, see below for removal instructions.

Fanart/Community Uploads

If you are an artist and want your work removed, email contact@mywaifulist.moe with:

  1. The artwork in question.
  2. A link to the Waifu.
  3. Proof of ownership (e.g., a picture of you logged into social media).

Alternatively, you can contact us via Twitter with the original post and a link to the Waifu.

Content Removal

MyWaifuList is 100% moderated by independent users with no affiliation to the underlying platform.

Waifus, Series, Manga, Games, Web Comics, Studio information, and other entities are added, maintained, and updated by independent power users and user contributed information (via “recommendation” engine) and user reports.

As MyWaifuList’s content is user submitted & user moderated, some content will inevitably be the work of others. We strive to respect copyright law and the rights of independent artists everywhere, so if you own the rights to an image you find on the site, you can contact us at admin@mywaifulist.moe, contact@mywaifulist.moe, or on twitter at @mywaifulist with details to have the relevant images removed.

We do not require a full DCMA request to process removal(s). A simple ping will be sufficient.

If you would simply like attribution, you can also make an account and suggest attribution to an image.

DMCA

To file a claim under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), email contact@mywaifulist.moe with:

  1. A signature of the authorized person.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work.
  3. Identification of the infringing material and its location.
  4. Contact information (address, phone number, email).
  5. A statement of good faith belief.
  6. A statement of authorization under penalty of perjury.

To protect MyWaifuList, threatening legal action in bad faith will result in:

  • Archiving all related data and communications.
  • Expunging your information from MyWaifuList servers.
  • Blacklisting your IP address.
  • Ceasing communication until legal service is provided.
