Happy Birthday!

Hayao Miyazaki, famous animator, director, producer, screenwriter, author, manga artist, anime dad, and co-founder of Studio Ghibli has turned 80 years old today. We’d like to extend our warmest wishes for a prosperous and healthy future.

What’s Your Favorite?

My personal favorite is Spirited Away. Being pushed to suddenly “grow up” and take responsibility, hunker down, and work really hard is something that I think resonates with a lot of people when times get tough. The english cast performed well and the soundtrack was exceptional.

I think each movie is special so favorites vary from person to person. Some prefer the works that focus on the individual and others prefer works with larger themes on war, environment awareness, growing up, etc.
